“Frog” by Matsumoto Hoji from a picture album, “Meika Gafu”, 1814
My all time favourite Japanese print by Matsumoto Hoji.
Those of you who know me, know I love an original print and that Japanese wood cuts are a favourite ...I also love a good poem and haiku are brilliant wee gems of literature.
The perfect illustration for one of the most famous haiku by Japanese poet Bashō, composed in 1681.
